I would like to extend a
warm welcome to every single person who finds their way
onto the Robert Essex website. As is customary on
such websites, I would like to take this opportunity to
tell you something about myself.
I am just an ordinary
person with all those aspirations that each and everyone
of us has.
Before I suffered four
heart attacks and cardiac bypass surgery, I had never
written anything more than a letter. Then I wrote,
"Just a cup of tea", a book based on my own experiences
of suffering a heart attack and subsequent heart
surgery. This is a trauma not only for the person
concerned, but also for the whole family. One
needs to know how to help the partner, and other family
members, to understand and cope

with this life changing
event. Most importantly, you have to know how to
get hold of the situation quickly, to hit the ground
running. "Just a
cup of tea", being a factual account, is true, yet funny
in parts, buy deadly serious about the effects of
suffering a heart attack and bypass surgery. To
coincide with "Just a cup of tea", I have dedicated a
section of the Robert Essex website to educating people
about the need to keep a healthy heart. Hopefully
the message contained with "Just a cup of tea", together
with the information contained within the 'Healthy
Heart' section of the website, will help to encourage
people to live healthier lifestyles, and to look after
their hearts.
Some of my other
interests, that have provided me with the material for
my later books include; Egyptology, medicine and
surgery, the Royal Air Force, Space and the sciences.
I also love life and
people, and like to bring an element of caring and
affection to my novels, as many seem to lack this this
very special thing.
I like to incorporate my
many interests into my novels, especially my love of
space and science. I find it interesting to note
that what, to many, just a few years ago seemed like
science fiction, is now becoming science fact. It
is my belief that if we look upon the earth as but one
grain of sand, and then consider the immeasurable number
of grains that make up the worlds beaches and deserts,
we have an idea of the size and scale of the universe in
which we live.
To date I have written
seven novels, all available to download through this
website. There is also a short story, available to
read for free. I am currently writing several
other short stories, and these two will be available for
free through the website once completed.
If you have read any of
my books and would like to contact me to discuss any of
the ideas or topics covered, please do so using the
enquiries page. If you would like to leave a
comment or review for any of my works, please do so
using the 'Add Review' page.
I wish everyone happy
reading.
